Should We Rent a Car?

Yes, we recommend it to all guests! It is a great way to see the island and explore at your leisure. The main thing to remember is that they drive on the left side of the road... and watch for potholes! There are taxis but you don't want to be reliant on those.

What is the Currency in the Bahamas & Should I Bring Cash?

The Bahamian dollar and cents is the official currency. US dollars are accepted with the same value! Bring cash - a lot of restaurants and shops only accept cash. Exuma Markets the big supermarket accepts cards but with a 5% charge.  The bigger hotels, restaurants and shops will accept cards but bring cash.

Does the Villa have Wifi & TV?

Yes! The entire house has wifi and there is a smart TV in the living room and in each of the 5 bedrooms.

Are There Any Bugs?

No See Ums can be annoying, mostly at dawn and dusk. We recommend using bug spray or baby oil to keep them away... Please remember to keep the doors and windows shut, so they don't set up camp in the villa. Also, bring in your towels at the end of the day.

Is there Nightlife on the Island?

Exuma is not known for it's clubs and nightlife. There are many bars offering good cocktails. Big D's Conch Spot is right down the beach and always a good time!

Is Catering Available?

Are there Grocery Stores?

George Town has a couple of grocery stores and other shops to get provisions, but do be aware that stores are only stocked up once a week (usually Thursday) so planning ahead is always the best.  Exuma Markets is the largest grocery store and is in George Town's harbor front area.  Prime Island Meats is located between the airport and George Town and has freshly imported meats (steak, chicken, pork, lamb, sausages) and seafood, as well as other grocery items like fruits and vegetables
